| Abstract: | The P—O stretching force constants of the phosphonic acids of the type CHxCl3-xPO3H2, in which x varies from 0 to 3, and their anions are interpreted in terms of (dπ—pπ)—bonding. The behaviour of the P—C stretching force constants in these compounds is also discussed. |
