| Abstract: | A time dependent, rate equation model is proposed to describe the main features of pump absorption and gain in pulsed CH3F lasers. The agreement with recent absorption and output power measurements indicates that the concepts derived from this theory are relevant to the design of more efficient pulsed FIR sources. |
