Strategies for the synthesis of fluorinated liquid crystal derivatives from perbromofluoroaromatic systems

  • Abstract:The use of perbromofluorobenzene derivatives as starting materials for the synthesis of a variety of model liquid crystal systems by a combination of nucleophilic aromatic substitution, debromolithiation/trapping, dehydration and reduction processes is described.
