| Abstract: | The silylated secondary homopropargylic alcohols undergo smooth coupling with aldehydes in the presence of molecular iodine under mild reaction conditions to produce 4-iododihydropyrans in good yields. This method is highly stereoselective, affording cis-dihydropyrans exclusively. |
