| Abstract: | The absorption spectrum of the single crystals of Cu2+ in strontium tartrate tetrahydrate, grown from silica gel, is studied at laboratory and liquid nitrogen temperatures. From the analysis of the spectrum, the following crystal field parameters are evaluated, Dq = 1000 cm?1, Ds = 1535 cm?1 and Dt = 490 cm?1. |
