Casimir Effect for Two Parallel Plates Through a Gupta-Bleuler Type Quantization on the Static Domain Wall Background

Abstract:In this paper, Casimir energy-momentum tensor for a conformally coupled scalar field in the presence of two parallel plates with Dirichlet boundary condition on background of planar domain wall is investigated. We show that by utilizing a Gupta-Bleuler type quantization approach, one can obtain finite result for the vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor. In addition, we calculate the pressures on the plates and energy density between two plates and show that they satisfy the standard thermodynamical relations.
