Abstract: | In this paper, using the third-order WKB approximation, weinvestigate the quasinormal frequencies of the scalar field in thebackground of a five-dimensional Lovelock black hole. We find that theultraviolet correction to Einstein theory in the Lovelock theorymakes the scalar field decay more slowly andoscillate more quickly, and the cosmological constant makes thescalar field decay more slowly and oscillatemore slowly in the Lovelock black hole background. |
