| Abstract: | Treatment of trans-TcX4L2] (X  Cl, Br and L PPH3, PMe2Ph) with carbon monoxide (1 atm) in boiling ethyleneglycol methyl ether, gives trans-TcX-(CO)3L2]. Under these conditions the mer-TcX3(PMe2Ph)3] (X Cl, Br) gives a mixture of the trans-TcX(CO)3(PMe2Ph)2] and cis-TcX(CO)2(PMe2Ph)3] complexes, but when added free dimethylphenylphosphine is present only the second product is obtained. Carbon monoxide reacts with mer-TcCl3(PMe2Ph)3] in refluxing ethanol to give TcCl3(CO)(PMe2Ph)3] a C3 v seven-coordinate technetium(III) complex.The stereochemistry of the complexes was determined from their IR and1H NMR spectra. |
