| Abstract: | Tricarbonyl(cyclohexadienylium)osmium reacts with methoxide ion to give the carbomethoxy complex C6H7Os(CO)2(CO2Me) which on heating undergoes stereospecific rearrangement to 5-exo-C6H7OMeOs(CO)3, but 5-endo-C6H7OMeOs(CO)3 is the major product when the dienylium complex is treated with methanol. |
