| Abstract: | Spiro[2.nalkanes (n = 2, 4, 5) react with platinum complexes to form compounds of composition PtCl2(spiroalkane). These materials have been characterized by infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, and the point of insertion has been shown to be the cyclopropyl carbon—carbon bond opposite the spiro carbon. |
