Theory of chaos and control in a nonlinear optical system

Abstract:
A parametric amplifier driven by a periodically pulsed pump field inside a cavity containing a Kerr nonlinearity may be modeled mathematically by a two-dimensional map. We investigate control of chaotic solutions of this model system using the OGY method.
