Summary 1. New iron-containing antibiotics, viridomycins A, B, and C, have been isolated from the actinomyceteActinomyces viridaris.2. Deferriviridomycin A — the precursor of viridomycin A — possesses the capacity for binding not only iron ions but also cobalt, nickel, and copper ions.
