DTA,TG studies of catalytic oxidation of carbon particles over M2 III O3 (MIII=Al,Cr, Fe,Ni)

Abstract:Carbonizate as a model soot has been submitted to oxidation using Al2O3, Cr2O3, Ni2O3 and Fe2O3 as catalysts in the temperature range from RT up to 1000°C. The results obtained indicate that Fe2O3 is the most active catalyst in soot oxidation. However, all the catalysts examined are active in transformation of carbonizate components. It has been shown that DTA and TG methods can be used as fast methods testing the carbonizate oxidation. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.
