Abstract: | Experimental researches on frequency upconverted processes in Er3+ and Er3+/Yb3+-doped silica optical fibers are reported. These processes include frequency upconverted fluorescent light at wavelength of 466 (468) nm in Er3+/GeO2/SiO2 (Er3+/A13+/GeO2/SiO2) optical fibers and at wavelengths of 467, 546, and 667 nm in Yb3+/Er3+/GeO2/SiO2 optical fibers pumped by CW 1064 nm radiation, second harmonic generation (1064 nm-532 nm) with high peak power conversion efficiencies in Er3+ and Er3+/Yb3+-doped optical fibers, and 977 nm resonance enhanced antistokes of stimulated four-photon mixing in an Er3+ doped optical fiber pumped by high peak power 1064 nm radiation. |
