Relation between different formalisms describing partially incoherent wave propagation in nonlinear optical media

Abstract:It is shown that the Wigner formalism for describing propagation of partially incoherent waves in nonlinear media with slow medium response is equivalent to previously established methods based on coherent density theory, self-consistent multi-mode theory and the mutual coherence function approach.
