| Abstract: | The molecular methane ion CH4+ was observed to dissociate to the methyl cation and a hydrogen atom upon irradiation with while light from a 2.5 kW xenon are lamp. The maximum photodissociation cross section was estimated as 3×10?19 cm2 at 3350 Å and a spectrum was obtained. |
