Abstract: | The collision induced light absorption for a model proposed by Levine and Birnbaum and extended by Weiss is calculated by linear response theory and is shown to be equivalent to their Kirchhoff law treatment. It is also demonstrated that this result is the classical limit of the quantum mechanical expression. |
