Abstract: | The hexafluoroacetone photodecomposition quantum yield is calculated as a function of pressure at 24° and 313 nm using the established mechanism of excited state processes and rate parameters determined by previous luminescence and photodecomposition studies. Agreement with experiment can be obtained if internal conversion increases relative to intersystem crossing as the excitation energy is increased. |
