The Optimal Design of a Temperature Adjusting System for Injection Molds |

Abstract: | In contrast to the conventional empirical design mode, discretization is performed of the space and time domains. A three dimensional numerical scheme using the boundary element method (BEM) has been developed to solve the cooling time and the transient temperature field during mold forming. The derivation of a series of boundary integration equations are described in detail. The mold designer will be able to update a previous design until a proper temperature adjusting system for the injection molds results, which is crucial to better product quality and higher productivity. |
