Abstract: | The constrained Hartree-Fock theory is used for studying the stability of the solutions against two particle — two hole excitations. Quadropole and hexadecapole deformation are imposed on the Hartree-Fock equations to get the true energy minimum and the equilibrium shape. Energy corrections are calculated using second-order perturbations and complete diagonalization. Applications are made to the 20Ne and 28Si nuclei. |
