| Abstract: | By using an equivalent rectagular waveguide method, incorporating first order perturbation theory, propagation characteristics of dual mode elliptical core fibers are studied V value of the dual mode region, variation of birefringence and group index difference between E x 21 modes and E x 11 modes as a function of normalized frequency V for different values of the aspect ratio a/b are obtained. |
