Abstract: | Flexural waves are scattered by inclusions in a thin plate. For a single inclusion of arbitrary shape, reciprocity relations are obtained connecting coefficients in circular multipole expansions. Then, a formula for the effective wavenumber in a random arrangement of identical circular inclusions is derived, using the Lax quasi-crystalline approximation. |
