Superconductivity in Tl₂Ba_2−xSr_xCaCu₂O₈ solid solutions: T_c≈44 K for a composition with x=2.0

Abstract:	Solid solutions in the Tl₂Ba_2−xSr_xCaCu₂O₈ system were prepared and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Systematic changes in T_c and lattice parameters with x are reported. A sample with nominal composition of Tl₂Sr₂CaCu₂O₈ (x=2.0) is superconducting with T_c≈44 K.
