Abstract: | Simple formulas for calculating the pressure and the total hydrodynamic reactions acting on an arbitrarily moving airfoil are derived within the framework of the model of plane unsteady motion of an ideal incompressible fluid. Several vortex wakes may be shed from the airfoil owing to changes in velocity circulation around the airfoil contour.
