Abstract: | A convenient synthetic procedure is described for the synthesis of heteronuclear bimetallic complexes involving platinum and one other group VIII metal with a single bridging pyrazolide group. The reagent used is the nucleophilic anion, trans-[Pt(Cl2)(pz)(C2H4)]-, (pz C3H3N2-) generated in situ by deprotonation of the Zeise's adduct of pyrazole which will react with reasonably labile substrates to yield binuclear products. Spectroscopic and chemical properties of the products are discussed. |
