Abstract: | In the copolymerizations of acrylonitrile with l-ethoxy-1,3-butadiene and l-diethylamino-1,3-butadiene, the resulting copolymers were found to have a highly alternating structure. Their monomer reactivity ratios were determined by the Fineman-Ross and Kelen-Tüdos methods. A mechanism for this alternating copolymerization system is suggested on the basis of chemical shift differences between the head-to-tail and head-to-head monomer sequence distributions. |
