| Abstract: | The photonless annihilation cross sections for 113m,115m In at a boundary positron energy of 3.9 MeV have been measured for the first time: σef(115m In)=(5.0 ± 0.4) × 10?27 cm2 and σef(113m In) = (3.4 ± 0.6) × 10?27 cm2. The cross sections obtained differ by four to five orders of magnitude from the calculated values. A new mechanism of consideration of the positrons involved in photonless annihilation is proposed. |
