| Abstract: | High field n.m.r. spectra of 2,2,6,6-tetrabromo-4-methyl- and -4-tert-butylcyclohexanones ( 1 and 2 ) have been computed and simulated. From coupling constants (Jgem, Jea, Jaa and 4J) and chemical shifts it is shown that 1 is in equilibrium in solution. This work supports the conclusions deduced from infrared data of 1 in the scissors vibration region δ(CH3). |
