Abstract: | The Royal Society of Chemistry organizes “Study Tours” for chemistry teachers. Normally these tours include visits to industrial plants and, over eight years, many teachers have gained fresh insights into the ways the chemical industry works. Last October a new style of tour was held in Frankfurt — a city with a rich history in producing industrial chemicals. With the great help of Kurt Begitt at GDCh a tour was set up which involved study of the education system (academic and vocational) as well as the more usual study of industrial activity. |
