汉译英过程中连词的增补——以句子的层面为视角

形合意合一直是国内语言学和翻译学讨论的重要话题。学者们普遍认为，就句子层面而言，汉语重意合，英语重形合。英语中有许多聚集句子的方法保证句子结构的完整，连词就是其中的一种。因而，汉译英的策略之一就是通过增加连词将原本暗含在汉语中的逻辑关系显示出来。文章以形合意合的理论为基础，从句子的层面来阐述汉译英的过程中增加连词的现象及作用。

On the Addition of Conjunction in the Process of Translating Chinese to English on the Basis of the Sentence Level

Xinghe and Yihe have always been heatedly discussed by linguists and translation theorists in China. It is universally believed that as far as the sentence level is concerned, Chinese language is featured by Yihe and English language by Xinghe. Many ways in the English language including conjunction can make pletion of the sentence structure. the process of translating Chinese Hence, one of strategies for Chinese - English translation is to add to English to make explicit the logic which is originally hidden in sure the com- conjunction in Chinese. Supported by the theories of Xinghe and Yihe, this paper expounds the addition of conjunctions and their functions in the process of translating Chinese to English based on the level of sentence.
