Syntheses of BaCO3 nanostructures by ultrasonic method

BaCO₃ nanostructures were synthesized by the reaction of Ba(CH₃COO)₂ and sodium hydroxide or tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) by a sonochemical method. Reaction conditions, such as the concentration of the Ba²⁺ ion, aging time and power of the ultrasonic device played important roles in the size, morphology and growth process of the final products. The BaCO₃ nanostructures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and the Infrared spectroscopy (IR).
