Stress Distribution in a Composite Cylindrical Shell with a Large Circular Opening

Abstract:The stress–strain distribution in a composite deep cylindrical shell is analyzed. The shell is weakened by a circular opening and loaded by an axial force. The problem is solved by the variational difference method. The analysis is carried out for an orthotropic shell with low shear stiffness
