Abstract:
A simple and efficient method was developped for the synthesis of 3‐(5‐amino‐4‐cyano‐1H‐imidazol‐1‐yl)‐4‐substituted benzoic acids 3 . These compounds were isolated by intramolecular cyclisation of the corresponding 3‐{(Z)‐2‐amino‐1,2‐dicyano‐vinyl]amino}methyleneaminobenzoic acids in the presence of base.
