| Abstract: | A novel synthetic route has been developed for the preparation of 1-carboxymethyl-1,4,4-trimethylpiperazinium diiodide and 4-carboxymethyl-1,1-dimethylpiperazinium iodide salts. These quaternary piperazinium acids have potential, for example, in the development of novel water-soluble prodrugs or polymer derivatives. |
