On automorphisms of prime order of a Riemann surface as matrices |

| Abstract: | Let A be an element of prime order of GL(g, ) (g 2). We prove that A is a representation on the space of differentials of some automorphism of a Riemann surface of genus g if and only if A satisfies the  Eichler trace formula . |
