Inelastic scattering of X-rays and gamma rays

Recent progress in the following topics will be outlined. Needs and opportunities for further work will also be indicated. The topics are as follows. Compton scattering by inner shell (K and L) electrons; non-resonant Raman and Compton scattering and spin-dependent Compton scattering; atomic single-differential scattering cross-sections and incoherent scattering function (ISF) approximation; resonant Raman–Compton scattering and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) with possible coherence effects; ultra-high-resolution studies.
