| Abstract: | Cycloaddition of naphthazarin and derivatives to dienols, generated thermnally from benzocyclobuenol or by irradiation of 2-methylbenzaldehyde or 2-methylacetophenone, leads to tetracyclic systems related to those present in anthracycline and tetracycline antibiotics. |
