| Abstract: | Tetraphenylporohyrin-sensitized photo-oxidation of thiophenolates leads to the corresponding benzenesulfonates. The reaction proceeds via attack of singlet oxygen on the thiophenolate anion. A reaction mechanism is proposed. |
