摘 要: | Making use of shallow-water equations on f plane and considering the shear of basiccurrent, we have derived a KDV equation which describes the motion of atmospheric soli-taries. We have shown that atmospheric squall lines often found near the low level jet are theresults of the developments of these solitaries. The interactions and evolutions of thesesteady or unsteady solitaries have been studied undor some profile of basic current. Theseresults are in agreement with the facts observed recently near the low level jet. So thenonlinear formation of squall line, the high nongeostrophic wind and heavy rain near thelow level jet are internally compatible with each other.
