| Abstract: | Spontaneous optical birefringence of RecA-bound linear and closed circular single-stranded DNA filaments, as well as RecA self-assembled polymer, was observed in aqueous buffer solutions, which demonstrates the formation of lyotropic liquid crystalline phases. |
