Abstract:	The reaction of both $cis$ - and $trans$ -2-amino-1-(1-phenylvinyl)- cyclopentanols with aldehydes affords $trans$ -2-alkyl- $cis$ -3a-aryl-4-oxo-octahydro indoles stereoselectively.
