| Abstract: | The effects of pH and time on the error (due to decomposition of xanthate) involved in the iodimetric determination of carbon disulphide have been studied. A pH range of 5.4 to 5.8 (acetatebuffered) is recommended, Carbon disulphide varying in amount from 0.0060 to 0.3240 g can be determined with an error of ± 1.0%. |
