| Abstract: | Formaldehyde, furfural, and vanillin are determined in solutions containing bisulfite. The interference of bisulfite is eliminated by oxidation with iodine before furfural and vanillin are determined spectrophotometrically in ultraviolet light. Formaldehyde is determined with chromotropic acid by a slightly modified procedure; bisulfite is not destroyed previously. |
