| Abstract: | The organic compounds are fused with sodium in a nickel bomb in the usual way and the fluoride, chloride, and cyanide ions produced are determined. The method cannot be used to determine nitrogen in organic compounds containing oxygen since, in such cases, some of the nitrogen is converted to cyanate ion. |
