Spectrophotometric or absorptiometric determination of copper with 2,2'-diaminodiethylether-n,n.n', n'-tetraacetic acid

Abstract:A spectrophotometric determination of copper with 2,2'-diaminodiethylether-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid is proposed. Maximum absorbance is obtained at 720 mμ at pH 2 (1–3) and 25–650 μg Cu/ml can be determined. The reaction is unaffected by temperature or time of standing, and very few ions interfere. A 1 : 1 copper-EEDTA complex is formed.
