Abstract: | The full metric describing a charged, magnetizedgeneralization of the Tomimatsu-Sato (TS) = 2solution is presented in a concise explicit form. We useit to investigate some physical properties of the solution; in particular, we point out theexistence of naked ring singularities in thehyperextreme TS metrics, the fact previously overlookedby the researchers, and we also demonstrate that thering singularities can be eliminated by sufficientlystrong magnetic fields in the subextreme case, while inthe hyperextreme case the magnetic field can movesingularities to the equatorial plane. |
