Abstract: | This paper studies the photosensitive effect of cerium oxide on theprecipitation of Ag nanoparticles after femtosecond laserirradiating into silicate glass and successive annealing.Spectroscopy analysis and diffraction efficiency measurements showthat the introduction of cerium oxide may increase the concentrationof Ag atoms in the femtosecond laser-irradiated regions resultingfrom the photoreduction reaction Ce3+ + Ag+ toCe3+ + Ag0 via multiphoton excitation. These resultspromote the aggregation of Ag nanoparticles during the annealingprocess. It is also found that different concentrations of cerium oxidemay influence the Ag nanoparticle precipitation in thecorresponding glass. |
