Surface Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Phenyl thiourea on Fe Electrode in Methanol Solution
Abstract:Abstract This paper presents evidence that an iron electrode can be obtained by depositing a thin layer of iron atoms on active silver electrode with the overpotential deposition method. The surface Raman spectra of phenyl thiourea (PTU) adsorbed on the iron electrode surface in methanol solution are studied. The results show that PTU adsorbed on the surface of the electrode through the S atom, with the benzene ring far away from the surface. It forms a rather close adsorption layer and corrosion of the iron in methanol is inhibited by the layer of PTU.
