Hydrogen-bonded polycatenar mesogens |

| Abstract: | The tricatenar, hydrogen-bonded complexes formed between alkoxystilbazoles and an imine were found to be mesomorphic. Subsequently, related tetracatenar complexes were also investigated and found to be non-mesomorphic. We report the transition temperatures of these complexes and discuss structural modifications. |
