| Abstract: | A simple and rapid technique for the quantitative determination of serine in blood is presented. The method involves the removal of glucose in the protein-free filtrate and the oxidation of serine by periodate to formaldehyde. The latter is determined fluorometrically. Recovery studies of serine added to blood or plasma samples have been satisfactory. |
